With all the new Android devices coming out weekly, and how HTC has dominated the news, we have forgotten about some of the other players in the game. One of those is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, it was one of the hottest “upcoming”
phones not too long ago. It had gotten some good reviews and there was some buzz surrounding it, but it wasn’t available in a lot markets, including North America. It looks like it will see some daylight in North America, more precisely Canada. Rogers Communication sent out an email last week to subscribers, stating that there will be a short pre-order period between April 7th and 14th.
It’s been a long time coming, the Xperia X10 was supposed to launch last year. If after all this time you still want grab this phone Rogers is selling the Xperia X10 for $149.99 with new 3-year contract (that’s standard in Canada) and $549.99 with no contract. If you forgot by the now how the Xperia X10 will stack, up its running a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4-inch touchscreen, 8.1 megapixel camera, and has the Rachael UI on top of Android 1.6. This could mean that AT&T will offer the Xperia X10, Rogers and AT&T share the same 3G band. There is no official word on this yet, but AT&T is due to release a few more Android powered phones this year. We will stay tuned to this.
