There are many attractive wallpapers included with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. These wallpapers were picked though a competition which had many good submissions. But due to the restriction that this distribution, like the previous ones, had to be limited to a single CD, only 19 of these wallpapers were selected for inclusion.

But we will show you here, how you can get all of those wallpapers, which do not make it the official CD. Kenneth Wilmer has packed those wallpapers into a package and put them in his ppa repository.

To get extra wallpapers for Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala follow these steps:

1. Add Wilmer’s repository by typing this command in a Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kwwii/ppa

2. The next step is to update this repository by running this command in the Terminal:

sudo apt-get update

3. Now you can install the package by using this command in the Terminal:

sudo apt-get install desktop-backgrounds-extra
