Cuil Search Engine

With last few years we haven’t seen any company entering into Search market since they know it’s almost impossible to beat Google. Also Google has killed each and every option which can become a probable search competitor. But what if Ex-Google employee, who have Contributed to Google Search Engine for several years come together and create another Search Engine?

Do you see they will have any chance to stand against Google Search Giant? Well I do feel they will have, Cuil is a New Search Engine is ready to compete with Google Web Search. Interesting thing about Cuil (Pronounced as ‘cool’) is Developer/Owner and Executive behind Cuil who are Ex-Google Employee.

Cofounders Anna Patterson and Russell Power both helped create Google’s large search index TeraGoogle, while the third cofounder, Tom Costello worked on the WebFountain analytics engine at IBM and as a researcher at Stanford.

Cuil Website look is exactly opposite to Google, whole webpage is with Black background with Google like One Textbox to enter Search keyword/Phrases.

Cuil Search Engine

Search Result page is quite Eye caching which shows Search result in Div like area with total 11 results per page which includes images, website link and excerpt from a website.

However Cuil search result is not upto the mark. While searching for my unique blog title “BlogsDNA” Search result didn’t show up a single link from my blog.

Considering Cuil is still Crawling WebPages and still indexing, we can’t guarantee it can generate proper Search result

Key Features of Cuil Search Engine

  • Biggest Internet search engine—Cuil has indexed 120 billion Web pages, 3x more than any other search engine(Contradicts with recent Google Statement which has more then 1 Trillion Unique Website URL)
  • Organized results—Cuil’s magazine-style layout separates results by subject and allows further search by concept or category
  • Different results—Unlike other search engines, Cuil ranks results by the content on each page, not its popularity
  • Complete privacy protection—Cuil does not keep any personally identifiable information on users or their search histories

Have look at Cuil as your alternate Search Engine.

Lets See How Cuil competes with it’s rival Search Engine Giant Google. Cuil might stop Google from creating Monopoly.

Cuil dose’nt stand a chance against Google(as of now).
Google displays the search results in a simple way that facilitates faster result selection.
Cuil does quite the opposite. While they can easily change the interface, they lag in the algorithm too.
Agreed they are in the nacent stage, but they should work on their algorithm.

Unless it provides accurate and relevant result, it can’t hope of challenging google.

yah i don’t like the way they are presenting their results too. even if the results where accurate i don’t think i would use it cause the interface confuses me enough so it takes longer than the time i use to quickly stroll down a google page with results…
