Palm Pre webOS 1.1.0 Fixes iTunes 8.2.1 Syncing Issue

ADVERTISEMENTS

Palm Pre

We have already reported about Apple’s move towards iPhone and iPod Touch OS 3.1 to block unlocking and jailbreaking of iPhone OS 3.0. Similarly Apple has updated iTunes from 8.2 to 8.2.1 to block Palm Pre syncing with iTunes. It was for sure that Apple won’t like Palm Pre to use its proprietary software iTunes like this and it was matter of time for apple to permanently block pre from syncing with iTunes.

However it seems Palm has got some more ways to restore syncing with iTunes 8.2.1 and this is what WebOS 1.1.0 software update has got for Palm Pre users. Along with patch to restore syncing WebOS 1.1.0 has also got new emoticons and exchange support.

List of Changes in WebOS 1.1.0

1. Scrolling through long lists (like contacts) seems improved. We’re seeing a lot less loading, and only the occasional hiccup.

2. Push email now seems to actively delete (and represent the count properly) in the background.

3. Folder orders for IMAP Gmail accounts are now correct. Previous versions of the software had them totally out of whack.

4. The email alert sound is different — softer.

5. App load times seem a bit snappier. In fact, the whole device feels a little snappier.

6. New animation for the drop-down menus.

Check out good list of WebOS 1.1.0 Undocumented Features.

A note for Palm Pre users, you may have got back iTunes syncing but chances are high that Apple will come up with another iTunes update to block Palm Pre.
