Picasa is free photo management software form Google. Picasa lets you to manage, edit, and share your photo collection. It works especially well with Picasa Web Albums, Google’s free photo-sharing site. Until today Picasa was only available for Windows and Linux Operating system but now it is also available for Mac OS X.

The version of Picasa made available for Mac is still in Beta and needs some bug fixes to geotagging and webcam capture but rest all the features are perfectly functional with Mac. In order to use Google Picasa on Mac you need to have Mac OS 10.4 and above. However actual announcement for Picasa on Mac will at Macworld 2009.

System Requirement for Picasa for Mac

1. Mac OS X 10.4 or later required

2. Picasa Web Albums account required

3. iPhoto 4.0 or above required to use the iPhoto plugin

Nice one guys, but why does the link refer to a file called picasa3-setup.exe? That’s a DOS/WIN executable, and i would certainly like it to be a DMG file ore something, that might work better on a Mac…
