WordPress Development Team is pretty fast at releasing patched as well as new version of wordpress. Year 2008 itself has seen 2 major releases of wordpress, WordPress 2.5 and WordPress 2.6 and development of WordPress 2.7 is along the way.

Both version of Wordpress 2.5 and 2.6 have come up with many new features. WordPress 2.6.3 current stable releases of WordPress has no visual changes in Dashboard, But WordPress 2.7 is set to introduce new dashboard and many new APIs as well as new features.

Original Release date for WordPress 2.7 is Schedule on November 10 however WordPress Development team is 2 week behind the schedule which likely going to delay the final release of wordpress 2.7. Instead of releasing WordPress 2.7 there are planning to release Wordpress 2.7 release candidate.

As part of release cycle WordPress Development Team has announced first public release of WordPress 2.7 Beta 1. This WordPress 2.7 Beta has fully working new visual design but few glitches in certain browsers. WordPress 2.7 works fine in Firefox and Safari however IE and Opera are still facing issue.

WordPress Developers Working on this issue and it will get resolved before final release of WordPress 2.7.
