    i have question, i downloaded the iPhone1,2_4.0_8A293_Restore.ispw from this site and the snowbreze thing. i but when i tried to use that file in snow breeze it said it was not a valid ispw file. what do i do bout that? i have windows and iphone 3g 4.0 i am in japan an its thrugh softbank for carrier, not sure what that matters but i dnt kno how to jailbreak

    hey, my ipod is a ipod 2nd gen ios 4.0 and i did everything and then browsed the file iPod2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw and it said unvalid file?????? wtf> comon pplll

    if i already downloaded the 4.0 software on my 3gs, do i still need to do this as part of the JB Process–>(Download iOS 4.0. for iPhone 3GS.) I know its probably a stupid question but….

    k, it says you can only get iOS4 for 2 gig, and 3 gig ipod touches, AND I HAVE AN 8GIG!!!!!

    You’re stupid. It’s 2 and 3 generation, and it’s 8GB.

    2g and 3g refer to (2nd generation and 3rd generation) 8gig is you “hard drive” storage area. There is a 1st gen, 2nd gen and 3rd gen of the 8gig. On the back at the bottom you will have a model number. My 3rd gen 8gig is model A1214. Check yours then google it
