Apple Trademarks “Magic Trackpad”

According to Patently Apple, Apple has officially filed its latest trademark application to the US Patent & Trademark Office for the “magic Trackpad” trademark. Many people are speculating that this patent refers simply to a peripheral device that would allow desktop users to take advantage of trackpad like gestures and iPhone like multi-touch input. However, it’s quite possible that the trademark may also be referring to a next generation of trackpads on Apple devices such as MacBooks. The one thing that is for sure, however, is it looks like Apple is sticking with the “magic” marketing concept introduced with the Magic Mouse.
