How to Open Bitlocker Protected Drives on Windows Vista & XP

Microsoft Windows 7 has one amazing feature to protect your important documents and content called as BitLocker. Bitlocker & Bitlocker to Go is new feature of Windows 7 that helps you to protect data on PCs and removable drives, with manageability to enforce encryption and backup of recovery keys.

Unfortunately any encrypted drive or storage media with Bitlocker can’t be open on Windows Xp & Vista as Microsoft has no planes to backport Windows 7 Bitlocker for Windows Vista & Xp.

But Microsoft has developed BitLocker To Go Reader which is an application that provides users read-only access to BitLocker-protected FAT-formatted drives on computers running Windows XP or Windows Vista.
