Flume brings Instagram Feed to your Chrome’s New Tab Page

There is no shortage of apps for Chrome’s new tab page, but Flume, which is newly launched on the Chrome web store, brings Instagram news feed to the browser’s new tab page. Every time you open a new tab page on Chrome, Flume will show you an image from Instagram shared by people you follow.

Flume extension is available for Chrome, Safari and the Mac extension is on its way. After you install the extension, open a new tab page in your browser and select “Log in with Instagram” button to connect your account. Once the connection process is complete, open a new tab, to see the images from your Instagram feed.

To access the options of the extension, click your profile picture on the top right corner of your window. The first option “username” will take you to your instagram profile, the next option “Settings” will open the extension’s settings window in a new tab. An important option in Settings is, you can choose a different source inside Instagram to display the images. Apart from your news feed, you can choose any instagram profile, tags, popular, etc..

Next, you can choose the refresh interval of the source. You can choose between 15 minutes to 24 hours to refresh the images from the source. Instead of single images, you can choose to display a collage of instagram images from your news feed, using the “Show more images” option in the settings. It will create a window full of images from your Instagram account and will be refreshed based on the interval you choose. You can click to open the images.
