TouchMail For Windows Turns Your Email Into A Colorful Visual Tiles

Till Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook was used as the default email client application. In Windows 8, Microsoft introduced its own “Mail” app and the interface of the application is completely revamped from the old Outlook application. Though Mac has a beautiful email client available by default, there are some third party apps like Sparrow, etc., are preferred by many users. People always love alternatives. Especially, the one which gives premium features for free. TouchMail is one such alternative for the default “Mail” app in Windows 8 and 8.1 versions. It takes the advantage of Metro UI and shows all your mails in a colorful tile view. Lets have a look at the features and functions of the application.

TouchMail is a free application for Windows 8 PC and Tablets. You can download the app from Windows Store using the link at the end of this post. It is a very small application (around 8MB) and the installation is pretty quick. As soon as you complete the installation, you will get a form to fill your name, email id and password. You can add up to three different email ids and it supports Gmail, Yahoo, Office 365 and many IMAP email providers. Once you complete the registration process, it will walk you through the instructions to use the application in touchscreen devices.

There are different gestures available to quickly access the options and mails from the application. Unlike the other email clients, the interface will look completely new and all your mails will be shown as colorful tiles similar to the tiles on the Windows 8 start screen. Each mail will be shown in a separate tile, along with the logo, name and the received date and time. You can see a set of icons available in the left corner of the window. There won’t be normal options like Inbox, sent, draft, etc.. The first option “Unread”, will show all the new and unread mails in your inbox.
