[Web] Easily identify songs and artists from any YouTube video

There are times when you’re browsing YouTube and stumble upon a video with cool music/song in the background. The urge of finding out what song is it and who sang it can be frustrating and you usually have to comment on that video to find out.

If you want to get rid of that frustration, check out Audentifi. It’s a new web service that has the ability to identify songs and artist’s name in seconds.

All you have to do is paste the URL of a YouTube video into the form and click on ‘identify songs’, wait for a few seconds and you’ll get the results in a new window.

You must be thinking how accurate is Audentifi? well, it’s not 100% accurate. It’s right now in beta and as they’ve stated, some of the results may be tragically off the mark.

But if it has identified the song, you’ll be shown the name of the song, who was the singer and an overview page of the artist where you can buy that particular song from Amazon or iTunes or listen to more of that artist.

All in all, it’s a great service. Sure, there are going to be hits and misses (I encountered) but it still works great.
