Trove: A New Social Reader App For Web and iOS Devices

Even though we have plenty of news readers available online, very few are everyone’s favorite. The app should be simple and easy to use. By the same time, it should also bring all the latest news from the web. People always expect a variety of news and it should support various platforms. Very few news readers, satisfy all these conditions and become a favorite app for everyone. Trove is a new social news reader joined this race few days back. The application is developed by the former employee of Washington Post Mr. Graham Holdings. Lets have a look at the features and functions of the web app below.


Trove is a very simple application. Right now, the app is available for web and iOS devices. To start with Trove, you need to sign up with your email id. Once you complete the registration process, you will get a pop-up window with a list of  popular categories and people on the application. Either you can select or skip for now, then you will be redirected to the homepage. There you can see different trending stories all over the web. There will two panels, in the center panel, you have all the trending stories and in the right panel you have categories  and people to follow.


To create your own Trove, first you have to pick the stories. To do it, just press the “Pick” button below all the stories on the home page. Saved articles will be available in the Trove section of the web page. To access it, click “Troves” option in the top menu bar. There will be another option in the menu bar called “Social”, which will show, what are all the Troves from you has been picked by other users. Once you start Trove interesting links on your account, people will start following you. They can pick stories from your Troves.

Connect your Twitter and Facebook account to share the links to your timeline. Follow different people and categories to get interesting news everyday.
