Get Health Tips and Reminders Right from your Desk using FitBolt

People who work by sitting all the day should take proper breaks to improve their productivity as well as their health. We have browser add-ons and desktop applications to remind users for taking a break. Today I came with one such application called “FitBolt”, which not only reminds users to take a break also give few activities and exercises to stay healthy. FitBolt is available as a web app, browser extension and as a desktop application to stay connected with the app wherever you are. Let’s have a look at the features and functions of the app below.

To start using the app, you should create an account in the FitBolt website. Before creating an account, if you want to try the app, you can use sample account log in option. Either you create an account or use a sample account log in, you will be redirected to the dashboard as shown in the screenshot below. In that page, you have options to download the FitBolt Browser extension and desktop application. Right now the desktop app is available only for Windows.

After you install the app, you can set the frequency of breaks and the app will tell you what to do for relaxing. For instance, if you have set the break for every 30 minutes, you will get a fitness tip like stretch your wrist, push ups for 30 seconds, etc. Based on the timings, exercise tips will change. In the free subscription, you can add only the exercises and break timings. To add nutrition tips, health reminders, posture related information you can pay $3/month and switch to the premium account. This option will let you know about what type of snack you can take during the break hours to keep you healthy.

There will be a unique Access Key generated when you log in to your account. This Access Key is necessary to connect the browser extensions and desktop apps with your FitBolt account. Also in the dashboard you can see the usage statistics and settings of the application. Usage statistics will give you the complete details about exercises and all your activities you have done through out the day, week or a month using the application. Fitbit can also be synced with other tracking apps like Fitbit, Runkeeper and Dailymile.

It is an excellent health and fitness app for people who work on computers all the day. First you can try the free subscription and if you like it, you can switch to the premium account.
