It means the updated browsers, security applications, etc. Even though web browsers are secured, we have to use some security apps to protect our privacy. Disconnect is one of the famous security applications for Chrome and Firefox. It helps you to stop tracking from different web services online. Recently they have released a new extension called “Disconnect Search” for Chrome and Firefox to protect you from being tracked by search engines.

Earlier this week, Google and Facebook updated their privacy policies. Now anyone on Facebook can find you through Graph search and Google is going to display Ads with your face while your friends are browsing. It is impossible to stay away from these web services but you can protect your privacy using these security apps on your browser. Either you can download the app from their official website or from Chrome web store using the link below. Once you install the application, you can see the disconnect search icon near to your URL bar as shown in the screenshot above. Normally, when you search something using a search engine, all your queries will be tracked by those web services. One best example is the Google Ads displayed on the websites you browse. If you have searched for buying a smartphone, the best deals on shopping sites will be displayed on Google Ads.

Disconnect search will encrypt the keywords you search and display the same results on the search engine. There is a search bar in the application but every time you don’t need to go there and search. All the search requests from your browser to Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc., will go through the disconnect search by default.  You can also enable “Search from Omni box” to encrypt the search request from your URL bar. There is an another option called “Search from Everywhere”, which will direct all your search requests from other apps and extensions to disconnect search. You can watch the video tutorial below to understand more about the extension.

The disconnect search encryption will stop tracking you from all the ISPs and Web Services. Even you are using Internet security applications in your PC or Laptop, this disconnect search will be an added security for your browser.
