Twitt Storm: An Excellent Web App to Monitor Twitter Conversations

Twitter is the one of the important media to know the breaking news and trending topics on the Internet. Though we have an inbuilt option to search for conversations on Twitter, it is not enough to monitor such a huge number of tweets in real time. So for people who want to see the conversations on various topics in real time, Twitt Storm is an excellent choice.  Previously I wrote about best android apps for Twitter and apps to improve your social media experience. In that category, Twitt Storm is yet another web app designed for Twitter freaks. Let’s see the features and functions of the app below.

The best part of this application is, you don’t need to sign up or sign in with your Twitter account to use this application. All you need to do is, select or type the keyword to see tweets from various users related to that. These conversations will be updated in real time. Twitt Storm not only look for the hash tags, all the tweets have that search keyword will be listed on the stream.

Twitt Storm Scale is the home page of the application. There you will have all the popular keywords trending on Twitter right now along with number of tweets per minute. Once you search for the keyword, all the tweets related to that will appear in a movable grid format. The old tweets will be replaced as the new tweets coming in from the top. If you click any one of the tweet, it will open in a new tab and take you to that tweet on Twitter.

If you’ve signed in to your Twitter account, you can retweet and follow that user on Twitter. If you’re using Buffer app, you can share the tweet to your Facebook and Google+ accounts. Twitt Storm also allows you to pause and control the number of tweets appear in the stream. Next to the keyword search box, it will display the number of tweets per minute. Near to that you can see a scroll bar as shown in the screenshot below. Adjust that scroll bar to increase and decrease the number of tweets per minute.

Another cool feature of this application is, you can listen to some funny humming sounds using “Humpback Whales on Acid” while you watch the conversations. Twitt Storm also let you bookmark the tweets appear on the stream. Just click “Bookmark” option below the tweets to bookmark it. All those tweets will be available in the “Bookmarks” category of the menu.

Since it uses Twitter API directly, the application is completely reliable. Also it doesn’t need any user information to start with. Overall it’s a great application to see the tweets stream on various keywords. So, give a shot on Twitt Storm and share your experience with us in the comments. Thanks for reading, do share this post with your friends.
