Today Geohot has released Purplera1n RC2 which has support for Windows 7 32-bit as well as 64-bit and some kernel patches. The only tool released by iPhone Dev team to jailbreak iPhone & iPod Touch 3.0 are Redsn0w & Pwnagetool. Out of these Redsn0w 0.7.2 is available for both Windows & Mac Operating system. However Pwnagetool 3.0 is only for Mac Users.

The first jailbreak for iPhone 3GS has been released Geohot but not by iPhone dev team. Geohot was the one who found the first IBoot Environment Variable Overflow and released “purplera1n” to jailbreak iPhone 3GS.

As expected by iPhone Dev Team, apple is ready with iPhone OS 3.1 Beta along with iPhone SDK 3.1 and is available for download to developer now. The build number is 7C97D of iPhone 3.1 Beta. We are still not sure on whether this update is to block iPhone OS 3.0 unlock or it has been release to fix bugs.
