You might already know that the new version of WLM (Windows Live Messenger) promises a lot more than what the current version is offering. Along with the release of the desktop version of WLM, Microsoft has made the brilliant move to simultaneously work on WLM’s iPhone application.
This WLM iPhone application will be Microsoft’s 3rd such application for the iPhone device. A demonstration of it was shown just recently at the Next Web Conference. The demonstration left the audience impressed and eager for the application to be available. What will mainly be offered by this new version of WLM for iPhone is photo sharing, instant messaging, and the support of a social stream.
Other highly notable features of the application include:
1. Skydrive integration: Our gallery of images on Skydrive can be viewed and browsed. iPhone’s multi touch gestures will be supported while viewing the photos.
2. Image Editing: Users will be able to shoot pictures and edit them within the application.
3. Windows Live Social News Feed Integration: A news feed will be generated and shown to us. This feed will include updates of our contacts on Windows Live and other networks (such as Flickr and Facebook).
Microsoft’s demonstration of the application can be seen on Youtube.

WLM for iPhone will have a limited private beta release in May and a public beta release sometime in June.
