Apple Re-Releases iTunes 8 For Windows
ADVERTISEMENTS
Apple’s iTunes is one of most popular and widely used music player & Music organizer software. Recently Apple announced it’s latest release of iTunes, iTunes 8 at September 2008 keynote event ‘Let’s Rock’.
Many users swamped to download latest iTunes 8 as soon as it was made available, But Some thing went wrong with iTunes 8 on Windows XP and Vista and many users started reporting about Blue Screen of Death on Vista and XP machine (BSOD) when you plugin your iPod or iPhone.
After quick response from Apple it got clear that the critical error, best-known for its blue background, tagged an Apple-provided USB driver (”usbaapl.sys” in the 32-bit version of Vista, “usbaapl64.sys” in the 64-bit edition of the OS) as the culprit. Microsoft’s OS identifies the respective driver as “Apple Mobile Device Support” in Vista’s uninstaller. Check out Apple support page TS2280.
However fixes provided on Apple Support page seems to confused the users, as theres was no way to know what version they are downloading after clicking on Download Link.
Here is fix for iTunes 8 - Blue Screen of Death on Windows XP and Vista (usbaapl.sys, usbaapl64.sys)
1) Disconnect any Connected iPod and iPhone
2) Uninstall iTunes 8 completely from Control Panel
3) Restart your Computer after Successfully Uninstalling iTunes 8
4) Download healthy version of iTunes 8 from Apple site

Its is recommended that not to use previously downloaded iTunes8setup and iTunes864setup.
