Have you ever questioned the quality and coverage of your mobile broadband connection? Of course you have, especially if you are an AT&T customer. The good news is with the help of the FCC Mobile Broadband Test app (Free), you will be able to “Test the upload speed, download speed, and latency of your mobile broadband connection and share your results with a simple email export.” It seems as if the FCC plans on using this data to better understand the access certain users have or do not have to broadband. Below is the app description from iTunes and a link to download it.
Description:
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Broadband Test application provides consumers with information about the quality and speed of their mobile data connection. Test the upload speed, download speed, and latency of your mobile broadband connection and share your results with a simple email export.
Results may be pooled to analyze the quality and coverage of mobile broadband connections across the United States as part of a larger effort by the FCC to identify areas with
insufficient or nonexistent access to broadband.
* Please note that test results can vary based on several factors including location, end-user hardware, network congestion, and time of day.
