HTC Tattoo to Get 2.1 Update

ADVERTISEMENTS

Good news from HTC, the HTC Tattoo, the entry level and quite affordale Android handset, is going to be getting the Android 2.1 update soon.  This coincides with  the news that all US handsets will be getting the bump up to 2.1.  The HTC Tattoo is a inexpensive phone with HTC’s SenseUI, similar to the Hero.  The french Android blog frAndroid recieved a message from HTC, and it translates as…

Kindly note we understand that now that a phone running Android OS 2.1 is available that you are excited to get an update for your Tattoo. We are still working hard to building Sense for this new version but we expect to have the upgrade finished and ready to go soon. Please understand that it takes time to customize any Android version to ensure you have the intuitive experience Sense provides, and we hope you can be patient for just a little while longer.

This is good news for G1 users who still are unsure if the G1 will get the 2.1 update, due to hardware restrictions.  While the Tattoo does have more RAM and storage than the G1, its always been on the outside looking in due to its smaller screen size.  But this news bolds well for the rest of the 1st generation Android phones, it shows that HTC is taking serious steps to get the 2.1 update for all models

“But this news bolds well ….”

Last time I looked, I could hav sworn that something “bodes well” not “bolds well”. Just saying.
