I use my Gmail account for a number of things. It is not my primary email account but still I receive a number of important emails on it. What I have been doing since I started blogging, is that I provide my Gmail address whenever a new service/application needs me to register for an account. The flow of emails from all the services I have reviewed produce a clutter in my Gmail Inbox which is, in one word, inconvenient. Every day it takes me a few minutes to extract my important messages from the garbage of countless junk mails I get on my Gmail account.
Fortunately for me there is a service, free for Gmail users, which can sort our Gmail Inbox behind the scenes, simply by observing our activity. This service is GTriage.

GTriage is an easy to use service which needs only a one-time setup. Once we have registered for a new account and filled out the details of our Gmail accounts, GTriage adds a field labeled IMPORTANT in our Gmail folders. By observing which emails we open (the senders and content of the emails), GTriage gradually learns which of the received messages are important and consequently puts them in the “Important” folder.

So the next time anybody with an overflowing Gmail Inbox needs to extract his/her important message, all he/she has to do is go over to the IMPORTANT folder.
I wish I could provide you, my readers, with some images of GTriage in action. However the service is currently in its beta stage and is letting people sign up only if they get an invitation code. One can request for an invite on the site (which you can go to by clicking here).

Right now I am waiting for my invite code; as soon as I get it and get my GTriage set up, I will try to update this post and add images of the newly formed IMPORTANT folder in Gmail.
UPDATE
I finally got the GTriage invitation code and the time to update this blog. So here it is.
After you get the GTriage invitation code and create an account, you can add Gmail accounts (yes, more than one) to your GTriage account.

The panel in the middle shows the accounts which GTriage is managing for you. Take some time to train GTriage and specify how your emails will be sorted out. Click on the TRAIN button in front of the email of which the inbox you want organized.
After clicking on this button, GTriage will present emails from your inbox and keep asking you if emails of that nature are important.

Based on whether you answer YES or NO, that sort of emails will then be shown in GTriage’s folder in your Gmail account.
When you are done training GTriage, simply click on the link placed above the training box that says END OPTIMIZATION.

You will be taken back to GTriage’s Dashboard where you can now click on the START button to initiate the sorting.

That is all.
After you click the START button, your Gmail account is monitored, and any important emails are labeled IMPORTANT.
