This makes network security very significant for the safe continuation of network systems and the services they provide. To ensure it, many different Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and techniques have been developed the past decade.

At the same time, there is also the useful Honeynet Project that could always provide network engineers with further knowledge and information about different ways malicious users could come up with in order to misuse network systems. Not to mention the educational value of Honeynets. Thus, we could say that IDSes and Honeynets should be used in parallel to complement each other and help us built sophisticated techniques of protecting our networks.

VMware- VMWare is a PC emulator that runs on Intel x86 – compatible hardware. It is designed to create a virtual environment to install a new guest OS on the existing host OS.
