As we posted earlier iPhone Dev team was ready PwnageTool to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2. Now PwnageTool 3.1.4 is available for download to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1.2. As usual PwnageTool 3.1.4 is only available for Mac OS X and windows users need to wait till someone ports PwnageTool 3.1.4 or get custom firmware from Mac User and update your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Please Note those users who have already upgrade to iPhone 3.1.2 are stuck and cannot unlock as your firmware will be 5.11.7 which cannot be unlocked as of now. PwnageTool 3.1.4 can jailbreak iPhone 2G/3G/3GS 3.1.2 and iPod Touch 1G/2G 3.1.2.
SUMMARY:
1. The iPhone 3GS is now supported out of the box in PwnageTool 3.1.4 (or if you have upgraded to 3.1.x in iTunes)
2. The iPod 2G is still supported in PwnageTool 3.1.4 but you must already be jailbroken
3. The iPod touch 3G is NOT supported
Important Details
1. GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G(S) with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service then you should only update your device with an .ipsw that is made with the new PwnageTool. There are no second chances with this. You need to remember that PwnageTool will provide an upgrade path to newer versions of the iPhone software in the future.
2. PwnageTool will work for the iPhone 3GS
3. PwnageTool will work for the iPod touch 2G
4. PwnageTool WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G(S) and the iPod touch (1st Generation and 2nd Generation) but NOT the iPod touch 3rd generation.
5. For 3G and 3G(S) users who are Pwned, PwnageTool is your key to updating in the future, just remember to never install an update directly from Apple, and always use an .ipsw that has been created with PwnageTool.
6. There is no Windows version of PwnageTool it is a Mac OS X tool only

please mail me…. i’m wanted to jailbreak my ipod touch 2g using pwnage WINDOWS.
guys honestly im new in these things. i have a jailbroken ipod 2nd gen, my cousin did it for me. but last week i saw there’s a new version of the software, so i updated it to 3.1.2 . the result all of my apps cannot be open. when i search the net, everyone says that there’s no chance to jailbreak it again. so my ipod now is as boring as ipod shuffle. i really really need youre help guys. thanks a lot.
I want to jailbrake my iPhone 3g 3.1.2 ?? I don’t want to use blackrain! And I tried doing the one you down grade to 3.o and downgrade ur iTunes and using red snow it was wrkibg the. I needed 3.1jailbroken firmware an I saved it an didn’t work so I had to restore my phone. So I want to do this one with pwNage?? On windows will it work?
