Download Blackra1n to Jailbreak iPhone 3G, 3GS 3.1.2 & iPod Touch 2G, 3G 3.1.2

ADVERTISEMENTS

iPhone OS 3.1 was released almost a month ago and subsequent update to OS 3.1, OS 3.1.2 was released three days back on October 9. Till now only Pwnagetool 3.1 and pwnagetool 3.1.3 can jailbreak iPhone G & 3Gs 3.1 and there is no working tool to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2.

Well this time you don’t have to wait longer as Geohot has released Blackra1n jailbreaking solution for the new iPhone 3.1.2 firmware for all devices. The good news is Blackra1n can jailbreak iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G & iPod Touch 3G running 3.1.2 firmware.

Blackra1n is currently for Windows only, a Mac version of this app can be expected soon. So, what is Blackra1n? Blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak.

I restore my iphone to 3.1.2 as a new iphone and then i open up blackra1n while my phone is still on. supposedly, the blackra1n picture should appear on the iphone as the recovery picture, but the screen which says i should connect to itunes.
has anyone gotten it to work on a 3.1.2 iphone 3g?

I also verify that this does not work with the iPod Touch 3G 8GB model. It does work with the iPod Touch 2G 8GB model.

@IDEV follow the steps on my site EXACTLY and you will be good to go, but you have to do the exact button hold/release sequence/timing as this IS KEY.
Here is the site: http://ping.fm/5knkP

Mine didn’t work and was doing the same as you guys until I did the exact sequence of holding both buttons, then releasing the powerbutton when the apple logo appeared while still holding the home button, then releasing the home button after the GeoHot background appears.
If you do the exact steps, in order listed above, you should have no problem.

So, ive tried everything. From running from admin to guest, to test users with no admin rights to test users with full admin to everything user wise. Didn’t work. Then I tried stop all programs include applemobiledevice, AVG, Firewalls, etc. Now it won’t pick up my phon when i turn it on. Restart computer to get it so it finds my phone. Then I turn on after blackra1n is started, before its started, during the process, everything, it gets stuck in running… and the conntect to iTunes (usb pointing to cd) logo is still on and doesn’t stop. I even left it running all night. And When i came back it said something about starting recovery mode again. I am lost. Ive read 100 websites all with semi similar process, turn on airplane mode, turn off airplane mode, stand on your head and kick the ceiling while one hand plays the piano and the other touch’s yourself.
Nothing. Can someone, anyone, give simple, step by step directs that are 100%? Cause ive had about enough.

Thank you George Estephen. I recommend following his steps, i did exactly what it said.
1. Turn off Phone
2. Click “make it rain”
3. Hold Power and Home Button
4. When apple logo comes up release Power button and continue holding Home.
5 When Blackra1n background comes up release Home button and a message should pop up saying the jailbreak is complete.
6. Wait for reboot and your phone will have blackra1n Icon

Enjoy

I have an iphone 3G…tried different instructions…finally watched a youtube video…works for Vista
1. plug iphone into USB cord (make sure you run BlackRa1n in XP compatible..go to properties and select box)
2. run blackra1n
3. wait for it…literally..forget all the other prompts if it launches itunes
4. it will reboot and blackra1n is now installed
5. click on blackra1n icon and install cydia..
you’re done
make sure you already have 3.1.2 installed and itunes library updated before starting step 1.

GOOD LUCK!

Please Help!!!!! I’m new at the jailbreak process and have successfully Jailbroke my iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 using windows vista 32bit. I’m not sure if this is normal but after doing the jailbreak I power off (reboot) and it always goes to the DFU mode showing the iTunes and the usb cable. I believe this is in recovery mode and when iTunes opens up it says that I need to restore to factory settings. I did this the first time and had to do the jailbreak all over again. I then figured that when that screen comes on I close iTunes and make it rain again and everything I did and installed is still there. Now, do I have to make it rain everytime the device reboots or the battery wastes and it powers off? Like I said I don’t know much about this so if someone can help me understand what to do or show me what I’m doing wrong it will be greatly appreciated. My email is xiyam1@yahoo.com please send an email because it will be easier for me. Your all awesome with help I’ve been getting with other issues and questions. Thanks all
