Many blogger prefer to use Google Reader for reading RSS feeds online. Desktop Google Reader is still in beta stages and provides very basic functionality like viewing unread feeds with Viewing/deleting & starring functionality.
The Desktop Google Reader application is designed to be a WPF desktop client and required .Net Framework to run.

I tried this out, its pretty basic, lacks a lot of features including folders which I rely upon very much, I use the desktop gadget which is pretty good and now will be switching to Newsgator since they provide full sync
