<description>Actually this is a great tool.  I had an issue and the solution was to remove .net and let it reinstall itself.  Also, quite a bit of malware targets it. Part of the planned resolution can be to remove and reinstall.

Have tried to make this work.  But someone posts something useful to some people and you call him an idiot?

I think you just painted yourself with the moniker but the thoughtless halfwit response.

This worked well for me in removing the pieces of .net I needed to to get past the endless reinstall problem which can glitch in Win7

<description>Think it&#039;s quite funny that many people here make the comment that it is &quot;stupid&quot; to remove your framework because it&#039;s part of your OS and make a comparison with a porshe, I mean seriously are you guys this stupid? You probably want to uninstall the framework to reinstall it incase it has errors in it etc... -.-&#039;</description>

		<description>To the Moron who wrote

If someone buys a Porsche, would you write a blog post on &quot; How to completely remove your engine from your new Porsche.&quot; ?

.Net framework is required for lot of Windows 7 Apps to function, you idiot !

Yea! The .dotnet is a part of the engine, but now my part of the engine is &quot;broke&quot; I need to go thru the uninstall and install process of all dotnet frameworks to get it working again (if possible)...

otherwise this Porsche is junk... and that makes me wonder, are you comparing MS with a Porsche?

This app did not remove OS dependant dotnet on Windows 7 - too bad!
verification tools tells it is fine. Apps depending on it wont work... What a mess!

<description>The .NET Framework cleanup tool will *not* allow you to remove versions of the .NET Framework that are installed as a part of the OS. This is described in more detail in the User&#039;s Guide at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx.

On Windows 7, it will allow you to remove the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1 and 4 if they are installed. It will not remove the .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 though because those are installed as a part of the OS and there are other OS components that depend on them.
