Microsoft Office 2010 is the next generation of Office suite after office 2007. Office 2010 is still under development and first Community Technical Preview of Office 2010 is expected this month. Several new features are added to Office 2010 like Background removal, Screen clipping, New WordART effects etc.
Like New Ribbon interface in Office 2007, Microsoft has introduced Microsoft Office “Outspace” (MOO?) in Office 2010 suite. Outspace is one of more noticeable change in Office 2010. When you click on Office button, you will be presented with a fancy task-oriented view that lets you manage your open document, presentation, or spreadsheet.
Now those who find Office 2010 Outspace bit complicated and want to revert back to old style, here is simple registry hack found by Rafael Rivera from WithinWindows.
How to Turn On/Off Microsoft Office 2010 Outspace
1. Press Win+r and type Regedit at run command
2. Now Navigate to following registry key in left pan of registry editor HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Toolbars
3. Create a DWORD named UseOutspace. Give it a value of 0 or 1 (‘0′ to turn off & ‘1′ to turn on)
That’s it, You’ll notice with Outspace off, a piece of the original Office button shows up.
