iPhone OS 3.1 Beta & iPhone SDK 3.1 Beta Released to Developers

As expected by iPhone Dev Team, apple is ready with iPhone OS 3.1 Beta along with iPhone SDK 3.1 and is available for download to developer now. The build number is 7C97D of iPhone 3.1 Beta. We are still not sure on whether this update is to block iPhone OS 3.0 unlock or it has been release to fix bugs.

iPhone OS 3.1 beta will update your baseband to 5.08.01 and you must stay away from 3.1 iPhone firmware if you want to keep your iPhone Unlocked.

New feature of iPhone OS 3.1 Firmware

1. iPhone 3GS – When you’re trimming your videos you now have the option of saving the original video by tapping the “Save as copy” button.

2. Voice Control is finally working over bluetooth now!

3. When you move your icons around the iPhone vibrates

4. MMS is enabled by default but does not work for AT&T users

5. The AT&T profile is updated to 4.2

6. Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz

7. There’s now a VideoEditorController API – Allows third party apps to call up video editing UI

8. Video picker API

iPhone SDK 3.1 Beta is for development purposes only. This software should be installed on devices dedicated exclusively for iPhone OS 3.1 beta application development only.
