Wordpress 2.5.1, What is that security fix ?
ADVERTISEMENTSWhile reading the post of mattcutts, got this Wordpress 2.5.1 release which has very important security fix. It’s about a month now to the release of wordpress 2.5 and my 1st successful wordpress 2.5 upgrade.
Anyways Wordpress 2.5.1 is out and without wasting a single minute I had upgraded my wordpress from 2.5 to 2.5.1 since it has fix of important security flow which is not publicly know. Imagine if this security flow gets leaked out then it will be insane damage to all blog using wordpress 2.5 and that count wont be less then million.
I am curious to know about that security hole , but after searching on google I got sure that this security flow is really not known to any one except the person Steven Murdoch who has reported this vulnerably and wordpress developers
In addition to the security fix, many bugs, enhancements are made available. We have two options
1) Download security fix which include downloading of wp includes/pluggable.php, wp-admin/includes/media.php, wp-admin/media.php and replace it with your existing copy of this file with new files
2) Download entire wordpress 2.5.1 and upgrade your wordpress 2.5 to 2.5.1 which has over other 70 fixes and improved performance
Well one thing is sure that security hole is present in pluggable.php, media.php files.
