Hi, i bought Iphone 3G and used at U.K with O2 Sim but i was migrated to India and now i cannot use this Iphone which doesnt display anything and shows only Itunes and USB cord. pls help me. Can i used this cell with 3G or any other sim cards in India??? Plzzzzzzzzz

i have bought a new iphone 3g with os 3.0.i ailbreak it through redsnow.but there is no carier.i donot have the wifi jone.so i cant download the ultrasnow…what to do now? plz help…thanks………

alright guys…i finally got my phone fixed. i was the one who posted two posts ago. long story short…my 3g 3.0 got the point where it wouldnt even restore. kept giving me an error (1013 or something like that. i left it alone for a few days and tried it on another computer. it finally restored! we jailbroke it using redsn0w but for some reason the wifi settings was greyed out and said “no wifi”. after restoring it another 2 times (we got the error again) we still got no wifi. my friend then read a crazy post saying to put your iphone in the freezer, we tried it and it worked! so any of you experiencing that, turn your phone off and put it in there for a couple of minutes. so we got it unlocked and after a few hours the dreaded no service thing popped up. so we tried to reset network settings (settings>general>reset>reset network settings) and it came back. when it happened again my friend did the freezer thing and it worked then we heard from a friend to go into settings>carrier and PICK your carrier. it is defaulted on automatic….but the choices under that for me was tmobile and at&t. since im tmobile i chose that instead of automatic and so far it has been working fine…but its only been about a day. i just wanted to share this with you guys if you were still looking for a solution. good luck to you guys…im crossing my fingers and hope my phone holds up. oh yeah but now itunes is saying it can’t read my phone and i need to restore it so i’m unable to sync it. if anyone has a solution plz help, i do not want to restore it again bc im afraid it wont work again. but im sort of fine with it since my iphone atleast works now.

I Jailbreaked my iPhone then there wasn’t service (before i jailbreaked it the sim card worked) then i unlocked it, now it keep saying Searching…

I am experiencing the sme problems as the two posts before. Searching then no service. It worked the first few days perfectly but then tells me a restore is needed and I cannot make or receive calls. I have been searching the net for two days. Sometimes u can reboot and I get service but then randomly I will lose it and have restored rejailbreak and reunlocked several times using Cydia and ultrasnow. I don’t know what’s going on but someone plz help. Yes I already tried turning 3g off before installing my tmobile sim card. I’m about ready to give up.

Hi. thank you for the information that you’ve provide for me. But i followed every step and my iphone 3g says its searching and than it will say no service. now it does that when i put the tmobile card on it.
and yes i turned off the 3g network befor installing it.
can you please help me? i’ve looked all over the web for an answer but none seems to help.

Hey i have a unlocked iphone 3g. i don’t know what happened to it. Now its showing the message, “Restore needed iphone cannot make or receive calls”. Is my phone broken? or is there any way i can solve this issue?

@ DOME, yes, I understand that one should not install both Cydia & Icy at the same time; however, I am sure that upon finding that one program would not work, even you would try the alternate, what else to do to solve the problem. At any rate, the problem was not with either program, I believe the Cydia site itself was at fault or my access to it; here is what I posted on another site -

Don’t give up – I had this exact same problem for a week or more. My iPhone (3G, 3.0, from Australia) was able to surf with Safari, however Stocks & Weather would not update, even when right next to the wireless antenna.
I am not sure sure how these two problems are related, but I do know that one day, Stocks & Weather did update, and Cydia ran, updated itself, then I did the ultrasn0w and it worked without a hitch.
As I am in Saudi Arabia and it was a work modem, at first I thought it was a proxy problem, but as it eventually accessed via that system, proves that theory wrong.
Is there any way there could be an internet glitch between here and the Cydia website and the same for you? Or perhaps Cydia site was down but that doesn’t explain the Stocks & Weather not updating.

Thanks for trying to help, I am fully aware of the idiosyncrasies of working with Wi-Fi in conjunction with firewalled internet access. I had the company proxy settings in iPhone settings, and entered the User Name and Password every single time after opening Cydia.
The time that it finally worked, I did nothing different than before; hence, my question about an access problem to the website or even an internet blockage between here and there. Be interesting to see a follow up from Jordan, did he finally solve the problem?
I did get a lot of proxy errors when Cydia failed to access properly, but they were not related to my company proxy, more like they said Proxy 407 or something to that effect. The time it finally got thru, it was a beautiful thing to watch, I just knew that it was going to work, you could tell by the way the files were downloading.

you must be near a Wi-Fi A.P.(access point)

can u start referring the 2/3G as 2/3Gen as the n00bs may
think ur talking about 2G(GSM) or 3G(usim)

and John if you read the insturctions it says “Dont install Both Cydia and Icy”

and azad
u need to wait till dev team can exploit 3.1 software
unless u own a Macintosh u get “Pwnage tool 3.1″
