if your iphone running in 2.2.1 baseband 2.30.03 bootloader 5.09 YOU DONT HAVE ANY CHANCE TO UNLOCK IT BY SOFTWARE! BECOZ THE DEV TEAM UNLOCKERS ARE ALREADY PAID BY APPLE! so no chance to unlock it by software but you can jailbreak it. so if you want to unlock it. just look for any simcard that unlocks your operator sim…

I did this, and it’s worked:

cd /Applications/phasebandowngrader/
chmod 755 phasebandowngrader
then give “./phasebandowngrader

Sorry…. but if you do not know what SSH is, you should probably not jailbreak your phone in the first place :)

As mentioned in an above comment, if you get the “Denied” message (as I did as well) CHMOD the phasebandowngrade with permissions of 755

If you already jailbroke your iphone via quickpwn then dont worry. Go to cydia and make sure youve updated if requested. Once that is done go back into cydia and look applications, the one you need is at the bottom of the page and its called fuzzyband downgrade, install this app wait for it to finish. You have successfully downgraded your base band to 2.28. restart your phone. if you havnt already go into cydia and download yellowsn0w…once that is done your phone will work with any gsm network!!! Trust me this works!

Addendum – As my eyelids were at 1/2 mast at 3AM, I gave up after the plethora of errors I was getting, and shut ‘er down for the night. I checked my Baseband in the AM and ‘lo and behold it is at 2.29.XX (?) I still cannot unlock it tho…WIP. :)

all the files need 777 permisssions, then when you copy the file to the iphone select all and then right clic on files and go to properties and change the permissions files.

you need the OPENSSH in your iphone and WinSCP installed in your pc for to do this.

do the all steps but when ur oing to give the last step “./phasebandowngrader”.wait and give this command

“chmod 755 phasebandowngrader”
then give “./phasebandowngrader”

3GBBD didn’t – work – ‘…unsucessful. You Fail!” it says, and the terminal suggestion fails as well – I run the app, and somewhere it asks for a language selection, and the it aasks to confirm atleast twice, but as it is scrolling I see “Permission denied” or something to that effect – So I must be at 5.9 – I think you only have to do the “chmod 755 phasebanddowngrader” thingy once. I tried a second time and got “permission denied” or something…BTW tried this from a desktop terminal, and it drops the ssh connection just as it asks for the language preference…Can’t type nothing – it hangs.
