Firefox 3.5/3.1 Redirection Alert Warning

Recently mozzila had released third beta version of Firefox 3.1, which uses Mozilla’s new JavaScript engine, Tracemonkey. The advantage of Tracemonkey is tremendous increase in speed of rendering JavaScript & another huge improvement is in Memory usage, now Firefox 3.1 beta 3 consumes less memory then any older Firefox version.

If you have started using Firefox 3.1 beta 3 as your default browser then you might have noticed Firefox 3.1 displays alerts every time when a webpage attempts to redirect to another page “Firefox Prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page”.

The intention of displaying alert is to protect users from getting redirected to any malicious third party websites or phishing sites unknowingly. Truly speaking this feature is implemented from Firefox 3.0 but as per my knowledge it was by default disabled hence chances are high that you wouldn’t have noticed.

In Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 this option is enabled by default and users like me finds it frustrating as every time you need to manually accept the redirect prompt and till the time you don’t accept the page may or may not load properly.

If you are one such user and want to disable Page Redirect warning prompt then here is how to do it.

Disable Firefox 3.5 Redirect Alert
