Windows 10 will be available on July 29 and all the existing windows users can upgrade for free. One of the tedious process in upgrading Windows or doing a clean installation is, restoring all the programs and settings to the new OS. CloneApp for Windows make that process pretty simple and let you quickly restore all your programs and settings without any fuss.
CloneApp is a free application for Windows. You can download the app from their website, using the link below. The app also offers a portable version to quickly get the work done. After you download the app, right click and select “Run as Administrator” option to provide complete access to the application. Once the installation is complete, you will see a window as shown in the screenshot below. The left panel contains all the settings and options of the application.
All the installed apps and plugins will be displayed in the “Clone” category. Select all the applications you need and click Clone button at the bottom right corner. All their settings and registry files of the selected programs will be backed up. Some of the third party programs will not be supported by the application, for those you can use the “Custom” option in the left panel. There you can manually choose files, folders, registry keys and commands from your PC.
The “Options” in the left panel will let you choose the path to save you backup files and logs. While taking a backup, either you can copy the complete settings and registry keys or just take a text note of the installed files. So, whatever option you choose, the path to backup all those files can be chosen in that options panel.
The application is pretty simple and any type of user can easily understand. Either you are doing a clean installation or migrating to a new computer, CloneApp will reduce your work.
