Windows has its own default text editor called Notepad, which is pretty much enough for basic users. For advanced users and programmers, there are plenty of third party apps available online. Recently, I wrote about Poet, an excellent text editing application with advanced options and about Atom, one of the best text editors from GitHub. Today I’ve come with a new application called “Synclipfy”, which gives a simple and elegant user interface with a decent set of advanced options for programmers and developers. Let’s have a look at the features and functions of the app below.
Synclipfy is a free text editor for Windows. You can download the app using the link below. On the download page, you’ve both full version and a portable version of the app will be available for download. You can download both versions and the portable app will come handy when you don’t have your computer. Once you complete the installation, you will see a window as shown in the screenshot above. The interface of the app will look similar to native windows apps like MS Office, MS Paint, etc.. On the top menu bar, there will be three sets of options, File, Edit and Advanced. Basic file operations like save, print, open file options will be available as icons at the top of the window.
Unlike other options, the File menu will take you to a new window and let you browse through the options. It has all the basic options like open file, save as, print, etc., as shown in the screenshot above. The Edit menu contains all the important options, which will be categorized into four sections as Persistence, Clipboard, Actions and Coding. In the Advanced option on the menu bar, there will be three main sections, Export, Utility and Toolbox. It lets you export the files in Rich Text Format and in HTML Format. The split editor will mirror the screens and let you work on the code with a backup.
In Synclipfy, you can open different tabs, to work on multiple codes. Navigating between the tabs are quick and simple. Also, you can download the Synclipfy Server and FTP Script using the link below. If you are looking for an alternative to your current text editor, Synclipfy is worth giving a try.
