Cloud Services are slowly becoming an important storage medium for all types of users. Since, most of us use different mobile devices and PC, Cloud Storages makes all our data available in a common space for easy access. Dropbox is one of the popular Cloud services on the Internet and it’s been a favorite for many users. Though it comes with a very small storage space as compared to other cloud services, it has plenty of options and add-ons available to enhance its functionality. Boxifier is a new add-on for Dropbox, which can sync any folder on your PC to Dropbox with just a click. Here’s how it works.
Normally, when you install the Dropbox application for Windows, it will create a separate folder in “This PC’s” (My Computer), “Favorite” section. You can copy and paste the files to that folder to sync with your Dropbox account. Instead of this copy, paste process, you can connect any folder from the PC to your Dropbox account easily using this Boxifier add-on for Windows. It is a premium application, which comes with a limited trial period. As soon as you install the app, it will ask you to enter your email id, to send you the free license.
You will receive a code in your mail to activate the account. As soon as you activate the app, you will see a window as shown in the screenshot above. Also, there will be a new option called “Boxifier – Sync with Dropbox” in the right click Context Menu. So, when you need to sync a folder to your Dropbox account, just right click on the folder and select Boxifier option in the Context Menu, the folder will be connected to your Dropbox account automatically. All the connected folders will appear on the homepage of the application.
If you want to use it for business purposes or want to connect NAS (Network Shared Drives), you have to purchase the premium version. An important highlight of the application is, as soon as you connect the folder to your Dropbox account, all the premium features will be available for the first 30 minutes. So, you can experience all the premium features for a limited amount of time. If you think those features are necessary, you can upgrade to the premium account. If you are a regular user of Dropbox in your Windows machine, Boxifier is worth giving a try. Please share your experience with us in the comments.
