Gina DLL kSecureGINA.dll Winlogon The Logon User Interface DLL failed to load

A missing DLL which was hooked up in Window’s Logon was missing and XP was just displaying Error message of missing DLL at login stage and only option Restart option was given by Windows XP
Here is Error Message
User Interface Failure
The Logon Interface DLL C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\kSecureGINA.dll Failed to load
Contact you System Administrator to replace the DLL, or Restore the original DLL
Now I was like what I can do when Windows is not even starting. Only option which I thought can help me is to start in safe mode and have look at that missing DLL
I have tried to reproduce similar Error in my Vmware player Virtual Machine

Below are mentioned steps which I followed to locate solution for missing kSecureGINA.dll
- Start Your Windows XP in safe mode (keep Hitting F5 key of your keyboard just after you hear a beep sound)
- Select Safe Mode start up option from displayed list
- Once You Windows XP starts up in safe mode type following command at run- regedit
- locate follow registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Now browse GinaDLL key and delete that registry key.
Backup your Registry Key if your Deleting/Modifying/Creating New Registry key.
How to Backup Registry Key ?
To back registry have to use Export method. Go to your Registry Editor as per step number 3.Now in your registry Editor Under File tab there is Export option.while keeping you My Computer selected use this export option and export whole Registry of you Computer.At later stage you can Re Import you previously exported registry key
Problem Reference: - I had installed Finger Print scanner based Security Software on Personal Computer. This had hooked kSecureGINA.dll in Winlogon Process. Today when I had uninstalled this software and restarted my Machine I started facing this issue.
So I suppose any kind of Security Software which gives additional mechanism for Windows Login will do hookup with Winlogon and you may face similar issue when you uninstall such software. This article might you to resolve such problems of missing DLL at Winlogon Process
