Fix Error 1921 While Upgrading or Installing iTunes on Windows

There are some users facing an issue with while upgrading or installing iTunes. When iTunes installation is about end displaying “stopping services” following error message pops up,

“Error 1921.Service iPod Service (ipodservice) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop the system service.”

The above error message gives only two options, Retry and Cancel and if you press cancel then it uninstalls everything that was already installed. Fortunately a solution to iTunes Error 1921 is very simple.

Fix iTunes Error 1921 Service iPod Service Could Not be Stopped

1. Click on Start and go to Run and type following command

Msconfig

2. Go to Services tab

3. Check “Hide All Microsoft Services”

4. Now Click on Disable All and

5. Click on Restart Prompt System Configuration dialogue box.

6. Now try to upgrade and install iTunes.

You need to Re-enable all Disabled Service in Step number 4.
