People who work under different platforms, often need to transfer files between devices. There are many applications available to transfer files within the same network, but we don’t connect to the same network always. Also, we work on different devices like Smartphones, Tablets, PC and Mac. We need a common application to connect all these devices in a network. Today I’ve come with one such application called “Filedrop“, which lets you transfer files between PC, Mac and different mobile devices. Lets have a look at the features and functions of the app below.
Filedrop is a free application for PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices. You can download the app using the links below. The app functionality is similar to “Airdrop” for Mac. The application interface is very simple and easy to understand. Once you complete the installation, you will see a small window with a list of devices connected to your network. Also, as shown in the screenshot above, there will be a space to drag and drop the files you need to transfer.
In the list of devices displayed, choose the one you need and it will open a new window. Once you drag and drop the file into that window, it will enable a pop-up in the device you need to transfer. There will be two options, “Allow” and “Deny” in the screen. Click “Allow” to start the file transfer. You can see the transfer progress in both the machines. Also, it lets you transfer the files to two or more devices at the same time.
Unlike other file sharing applications, you don’t have any complex procedures to transfer the file. All you have to do is, just drag and drop. All the files you transfer will be saved in “Downloads” folder by default. You can change that in the application settings. As of now, Filedrop is available PC, Mac and iOS devices. For Android, the app is under development. If you are a multiple platform user in a single network, Filedrop is worth giving a try. Share your views about the app in the comments.
