Gmail Labs New Feature : Add Your Location in Signature

Every week we see some new feature from gmail labs. Recently Gmail team had added offline gmail feature and here is another new feature from gmail labs. This time Gmail team has brought Location signature in your Gmail inbox.

Now you can add your location in your email signature while sending mails from gmail. This feature is particularly helpful to those users who need to frequently travel around the world. With this new gmail feature receiver of your email can instantly get it in which part of the world your right now.

Marco Bonechi, Google Software Engineer has developed this gmail feature in his 20% time. Gmail Location in signature feature automatically detects your location and appends the city region and country names to your signature, like this:

How to Turn on Location in Signature Gmail Feature

1. Login your Gmail inbox

2. Click in Settings -> Labs and scroll down to locate “Location in Signature”

3. Check “Enable” to enable this frature.

4. In your Setting-> General Tab, check Append your location to the signature in your Signature settings.

Location in signature gmail feature uses public IP address to identify your location hence it may not be accurate.
