Use Your Computer to Download Files to Your Android
There must have been numerous occasions when you have been browsing the web on your computer and have stumbled across a file you’d like to have on your Android phone or tablet. Maybe you’ve found and APK as you browse, or a new background that you’d like to use. There is nothing to stop you from downloading the file to your computer and then transfer it to your mobile device, but there is an easier way.
Downiton.mobi is a free service that can be used to download files to your Android from your computer — no need to mess about with USB cables or wireless transfers. Pay a visit to the Downiton.mobi website and click the link to sign up for a new account.
With your account created, sign in and you should then get the Downiton.mobi app installed on your phone or tablet. Visit to Google Play and grab yourself a free copy of the app.
With the Android app installed, you’ll need to sign into your account and then you’re ready to go. There are very few settings to concern yourself with here, but you can use the On/Off toggle to indicate whether files should be downloaded on a data connection or only on wifi.
Return to the Downiton.mobi website and refresh the page to ensure that your Android installation has been detected. You can then paste a download link into the text field, use the dropdown menu to choose which of your Android devices you would like to download to and click the Down It On Mobi button
That’s all there is to it. Your file will be downloaded through the Downiton.mobi app on your Android, and the website will maintain a list of your ten most recently downloaded files in case you need to redownload anything. Just don’t forget to bookmark the Downiton.mobi website!
