Convert/Import & Export Your Blog Posts to Blogger or WordPress or Livejournal

Yesterday we posted about Google Blog Converters, first of its own kind of open source project aiming at providing flexible way to convert your blog post, comments from one blog service to another blog services like Bloggers, WordPress, Live Journal, Typepad, Movabletype.

In order to use Google Blog Converts you need to have knowledge of how to execute python scripts which I am sure not many bloggers are aware of, for all those blogger here are ready apps hosted at Google App Engine. These Apps internally uses Google Blog Convert scripts to lets you instantly convert your blog post to other blog services.

Best part about these Google Apps is that you don’t need to download any tools or converters or any knowledge of python scripts.

Current three such Blog Converting Apps are hosted on Google App Engine.

1. Blogger to WordPress (blogger2wordpress)

2. WordPress to Blogger (wordpress2blogger)

3. Live Journal to Blogger (livejournal2blogger)

Blogger to WordPress

This Google App will let you to convert your Blogger blog Export file to WordPress WXR export file which is easier to import on any WordPress blog. To use this app you need to login to your blogger blog dashboard and export all your posts and comments.

WordPress to Blogger

This is App is complete tool to help you in moving your WordPress blog to Blogger Blog. You need to first export all your blog posts and comments to WordPress WXR export file and then feed this file to WordPress2Blogger google app which will convert this Export file into Blogger compatible Export file which can be easily imported in to your blogger blog by login into Blogger dashboard.

Livejournal to Blogger

Unlike previous two Google Apps this one requires your Livejournal Login credentials i.e Livejournal username and password. Once you login to your Livejournal blog from livejournal2blogger google App, you will prompted to save files which is actually a blogger compatible export file of your Livejournal posts & comments which you can directly import to your blogger blog.

    The livejournal2blogger script is breaking when I try to run it using my LJ log-in. Any chance you could take a look and let me know when it’s up & running properly? It’d be a massive help as I’m trying to do just that right now (transfer from LJ to Blogger, that is).

    but how do you use python when your wordpress blog is way over 1mb (because that app only works if you have 1MB or less of content..i have over 9.8MB…i have exported my file from wordpress, but cannot figure out how to import it onto blogger because i cannot get it converted. Someone pls help
