u all can use pidgin portable (powered by portableapps.com). no virus for sure.

the disadvantages are the icons. YM’s icon much better.

Running the executable immediately copies a file called “Win32dll.exe” in the “C:\” directory (and God knows where else). It is a registry editing trojan and can compromise your registry’s integrity. Never run protable apps found of the web on your real system. Always test executables not created by you on a virtual machine. I’m still tracking the status of this trojan and will post more info after. Cheers

I was still able to download the file today (1.30.2009). I scanned it using Norton Internet Security 2009 and Ad-Aware Pro and no viruses have been found.
