my upgrade from 2.6.2 to 2.7 took less than 5 mins including the download
I did deactivate all my plugins first - getting them back working took a any hour and a half.
Remember to do an export of the contents first in case of problems.
Check you are using php 4.3+ pref 5.x first

Basically it was p.easy - Bite the Bullet.

I personally think that better support for themes should be included on the next wordpress release. They have been using the same two sample themes for to long and it would be great if more themes came as standard.

These wordpress guys are rolling out too much releases, though they are concerned with our privacy and security. I am still using wordpress 2.6 as it's really hard to upgrade to latest version.

Moreover I think the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin doesn't allow us to update to 2.7. Correct me if I am wrong.
