I am in desperate need of help with this.
I have recently rebuilt the family pc using old components (not faulty, just obosolete because of upgrades) 1Ghz AMD MoBo. Installed win xp pro onto it and worked a beauty till SP3 installed, as far as I can gather from searching the hdd there is no intel DLL file fouling it up. the computer refuses to boot normally until i force it into safe mode and run a restore to prior SP3.

Apart from stuffing sp3 where the sun don't shine, any advice on this tangent of a problem?

I'm glad I haven't installed XP SP3. Even though, I have an Intel processor, people are still having issues with the new Service Pack.
