Official iPhone 4 Jailbreak Released By @comex

Developer Comex has just released the highly anticipated jailbreak for iPhone 4, allowing users of Apple’s latest iPhone, as well as iPad and iPod touch users running iOS 4 to jailbreak their device. The jailbreak is available now through a new website called JailbreakMe.com, specially set up for the new browser based jailbreak process. A full list of supported devices is posted below.

In order to jailbreak your iPhone 4, or iDevice of choice running iOS 4, you can navigate using the device’s browser to the following URL http://jailbreakme.com/

@comex notes, “If it hangs at a purple screen, it’s because the server fails”.

The servers will definitely be quite congested for a while, but you can try http://jailbreakme.modmyi.com/_/ as an alternative if you can’t wait for the excitement to die down.

Known issues so far: (1) fail on iPad 3.2.1 (2) losing MMS (but not for everyone)

    it totally baffles me that this jailbreak tool wasnt created with non-AT&T users in mind i bet you a lot of people restored with itunes not knowing that they would not be able to jailbreak later.

    OMG!!!! its out and iphone web based? thought it didnt work but 2-3 minutes of it downloading and installing it blew my mind!! it worked! :) ive been searching for an iphone 3GS MC model running ios 4.0 since its release and you’ve done it Comex your a fucking genius! i will tell all my iphone user friends and will be makeing a donation on your spirit website. you fucking rock!!!!!

    The warranty-voiding jailbreak process allows users to run software not approved by Apple, which has no plans to allow users to install third-party applications downloaded from outside its sanctioned App Store. Third-party companies like ifunia created their owm custom applications from their online store and an alternative storefront known as Cydia. I’m glad to try it for my iphone 4, as I have done on my 3gs.

    I have Ipod touch 3G with Ios4 (MC Model). when i enter this URL & slide for jailbreaking, nothing happens. I waited for more than 15 mins for next screen to appear but no luck. I restored firmware again and tried jailbreaking but no luck again. Can someone help me? Thank you

    worked like a charm. i was gutted when updating my ipad to latest itunes update and lost cydia, my multi-tasking, wireless sync, ifiles (which rocks!!) and all my other lovely goodness. were back baby!

    jailbreak worked fine with my 3gs on 4.0.1! thanks a lot, will donate some soon :)
    i tried to jailbreak my friends phone too, same 3gs same ios but after downloading, safari just quit and nothing else happens. after trying again it says “oops! installer crashed, try again” but same happens again, downloading and after safari exit. already tried to clear cache, cookies, reboot… nothing.
    one issue i recognized, at the bootscreen above the apple logo some white-green pixel line appear (same on my successfully jailbreaked iphone), so i guess something happened but the phone got stucked between something…
    any help i would very much appreciate! christian

    i made the mistake of updating my iphone to ios 4.1…. ughhh please tell me that you know of a way to downgrade back to a 4.0 so i can jailbreak!??
